Bandit

Alex has been asking for years if he can get a kitten. At first the answer was no because we had Albany (Ashley's cat lived with us while they were in California for 4 years). Once Albany left the answer was no because we would be gone to Mount Rushmore for a week and wouldn't be around. Finally we said yes in July.

We found her listed in the classifieds on KSL. She was listed as part ragdoll (a very loving breed of cat) which Alex wanted. Alex and I drove down to Sandy to check her out. Alex liked what he saw and we brought her home. Naming her was a chore. He finally chose Bandit (one of my many recommendations which I prefered it to Snowy and Paws).

We had a few issues with her (thinking bathmats are a littler box, loving people food) but have been happy overall. She can be very playful. Her main playmate is Drew. They play a good 30 minutes a day. It is so funny to watch.

She is not mean. She just gnaws on him a little in play. Drew gets down on his hands and knees and chases her around the house. They both seem to love it.

Unfortunately she loves to sleep in my plant. She is just too cute in it to move. I did have to put a towel over the dirt, however, because she likes to dig and I was finding potting soil all over the counter.

It took Adam and Isaac a little while to get use to Bandit. As a kitten she was often playful and they were a bit nervous of that. She has mellowed some plus they have just gotten more use to her. They both love to have her snuggle up on their laps. She loves to lay on us when she is tired.

Bandit is a fun addition to our home. It is fun to see the boys with her and even their friends. She is also very popular in our neighborhood. I've seen many people stop to pet her on the walking path that goes by our backyard. What a good idea to get a cat Alex!
